Our visit began in Victoria, staying in the country with Jono, Fi and Nate ~ our little nephew born in April.
We visited a local reserve; sitting in the warm sun on a crisp winter's morning next to the Murray river. And on our trip back we saw wallaby and koala in the wild.
Jono and Fi are volunteer firefighters in their local area so it was only suitable to take the little guys down there and explore the firetruck.
Don't you think Baby Hub is a natural?!
We continued onto Melbourne for 2 nights, 3 days ~ we loved this city! We travel a lot and were thoroughly impressed with all we experienced in our inner-city adventure. Walking through beautiful parks, taking the electric trams that move through the streets are easy to use and incredibly reasonable.
We loved visiting Melbourne's 'Shrine of Remembrance', a unique and deeply moving experience. You can only revere what these people did for the free nations of this world.
The city at night is breathtakingly beautiful with the Yarra River and the restaurants along the water ways. We would definitely love to go back!
Next stop was a short flight to the Gold Coast, where we stayed with Pop and Kay. Our first day trip was to Australia Zoo ~ home of the Crocodile Hunter. This was a place we both wanted to visit but especially Hubby.
Baby Hub was a great sport and was fascinated with many of the animals, he loved petting the friendly kangaroo!
Our stay with Pop and Kay was really great, with fantastic hospitality and comfortable beds. It was wonderful to have Isaiah meet his Great Grandpop!
Uncle Nate made an appearance and spent the day with us where we visited our Uncle Dean at his new art gallery, we got to surprise him there.
Hubby went bodyboarding at Point Danger, on the NSW/QLD border and Isaiah got to put his feet in the sea for the first time.
We visited Dreamworld for the day, with baby Hub riding his first two rides in 'Wiggles World' ~ he loves the big red car!
Our brave little boy.
We ended our day with a dinner with our friends the Schumachers who worked with us in Korea. We miss them a lot so it was truly a blessing to seem them in their home and enjoy time together.
Even pavlova!
We stayed in an apartment right on Kirra Beach and had this pretty alright view of Surfer's Paradise.
So thanks to the Land Downunder for your sunshine and warmth, it couldn't have been a better way to end our summer 'winter' holiday.
We are gearing up now for our fourth year here in South Korea!
Aw cool. My daughter got so excited at the Koala picture... Looks like you guys had a great time! xx
