have you ever experienced the rain pouring down below you? seeing the showers passing under foot, as you stand above warm and dry...

to my fellow chameleons
i have always described myself as a chameleon with the ability to adapt to my environment. mixing a little wild with the quiet; that's me.
have you heard the term ambivert before? {as in intro-vert and extra-vert, now ambi-vert!}... well, something tells me if you have the same tendencies as me you might be interested...

expansion
since moving home and working part time, i dubiously began a garden to see if i could at least keep something alive and maybe feed my family healthy stuff. much to my surprise it has brought so much out of me i had lost and i have totally embraced the new found creativity it has brought me.
hubby and i were talking the other night and he said {i think your garden is a picture of you}. it took me back for a minute as i was surprised at such a revelation but in many ways it's true. i thought to share with you some personal insights on my garden journey and the metaphorical picture it is painting me.

wearing our badges
a wee while ago now, i remember being awarded badges at high school. some read 'prefect', 'whanau (family group) leader', 'sport's captain'. it was an honour to wear these, it displayed your leadership role and responsibilities. it gave me a sense of pride and accomplishment. it was an acknowledgement for hard work and that you had earned that position. wouldn't it be great if that could continue through life? unfortunately, it doesn't quite work like that. there are many ways of receiving acknowledgement but at times the way you receive criticism far outweighs the positive messages...

It's OK when it's not OK
In the last year, I found myself in the depths of brokenness. A family defragmented as a consequence of decisions we had nothing to do with and because of it, the echoes of questions unanswered and disregarded. Abandonment and confusion...

I am an ENFJ
Extroverted iNtuitive Feeling Judging
I had to do this test twice (firstly, alone and then I insisted persuaded Hubby to do it with me and asked his opinion on many) and I got EXACTLY the same result. Say wah?
So some of the aspects of my personality stand out in this profile and some I am not sure of... Maybe I don't see them but they are there?

A vivid memory
Here I am finishing the May Challenge on the first of June! Committing to this for the last month of the school year sounded silly and crazy with all the busyness it brings but I am so thankful, it has helped me in so many more ways. This challenge has brought me out a rut and caused me to be so aware of what I have and value. So, thank you Jenni ~ it really has been fun!
Day 31: A vivid memory.
An early morning swim in the harbor outside my friend's parents house. Heart fluttering, laughing and full of joy at this young man who always captured my excitement for adventures and the outdoors.
A day beginning that is to be a vivid memory. Challenging ourselves to swim to an outlying buoy. Swimming back with our sidekicks (dogs) running around and loving it as much as us.
Walking out of the water, dripping salty water and feeling the sun on my back. Grabbing our towels and drying off, capturing each others eyes and trying not too seem to awkward but something hung in the air.

it's a journey not a destination
Ten things that make me really happy.
Happiness to me is:
Happiness to me is:
- when my son cups my face and smiles and coos at me - I am overwhelmed by those moments.
- lying in bed late at night and having deep and meaningfuls with my hubby - I feel so connected and understood.
- sitting in a cafe, with beautiful music playing and catching up with a close friend - I love to listen and share with those I trust.

I'm joining in! Everyday in May
Hi there lovelies...
I was on my Saturday me-date today, enjoying some alone time and perusing my go-to blogs. I read this post from one of my favorites and was challenged to join in! Thanks Rachel!
I am attempting to blog for the whole month of May!
This is not a straight-forward choice but one I think will be a really good one for me right now. You see, our school year finishes in June... So this is the last month of the year - enter craziness, enter tiredness, enter stressi-ness - (actually these have been here for a while)!!
I want to align myself back with the theme of my blog - seeing grace and goodness in every day life -
So here goes!!
I am on catch up mode ~

my bp story [part 2] // thank you disillusionment
thank you disillusionment
thank you frailty
thank you consequence
thank you, thank you silence
I immediately made an appointment with a doctor. Seated and alone, I heard... 'You have something called Bell's Palsy; you have not had a stroke...'
Breathing a sigh of relief, I held for more details.
'It means that the nerve which branches out to your face from behind your ear is inflamed, we will give you medication and in about 10 days you should be fully functioning again.' The doctors words settled my scattered thoughts; diffusing the initial questions swirling inside.

my bp story [part 1] // the girl with a broken smile
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved
She will be loved
~ Maroon5 ~
It was stormy day, one of those mornings when you wish you were inside out of the icy wind and snuggled deep down in your warm bed. A time to escape what was to be a stormy life-changing day for me.
