a treasure worth sharing

i have a love of thrift/opportunity/second-chance stores; there are hidden treasures there to explore and unearth. my first-choice option would be to go on my own and just get lost in the books. sometimes i flick open a book and am transported to a place and time and a familiarity that's hard to explain...

A song for today

Why hello... it is has been a while.

I think I feel like I am ready to do this with small, slow steps. Documenting the happenings of life and the ebb and flow around here.

Today I happened upon this song which tended to my soul.

To hear the words that 'This is not the end' is what I needed to hear for a very sad situation in my family.

If you needed to hear this today I hope it encourages you too.

~ Where Children Sleep ~

After reading Mallory's 'Things I'm Loving' list I followed her link to a photography website.

Amazing! It seriously is awe inspiring.

The artist's name is James Mollison. His pics are raw and honest.

The above image comes from his series titled 'Where Children Sleep'.

Quickly go see. It's totally worth it.

Thanks Mallory!

Just for fun.

I'm with the band yo.

I am linking up with

today for some creativity.
Do you like my band? It has a rather melancholic feel but I love the pic and had never tried picnik before. I am so using it again!

It's super fun!

Here is what you do:

HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS

1. Click here for a random wikipedia article.
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2. Click here for a random quote from The Quotations Page.
The last four or five words of the very last quote on this page is the title of your first album.

3. Click here for a random picture from Flickr.
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4. Use picnik to put it all together.

5. Post about it on your blog and then link up...

I'd love to see you what you come out with!
