Mum's visit

Mum has been staying for the last 10 days. It has been amazing to have her here and to introduce her to life in South Korea. She left this morning, heading for a two day stopover before returning home to NZ.

She was able to experience so much since on her visit here. A special memory was for her to be here for my combined baby shower that was put on by friends and colleagues from GSIS. It was extra special to share this with her.

Here are a few highlights of mum's trip to South Korea:

Visiting Changdeokgung Palace with Judy.

Celebrating being together at Outback with Jim and Carol Millar

Outside our church, Jubilee.

Climbing Hwaseong Fortress in Suwon.

Taking in the view at the top of our walk.

Visiting the Korean Folk Village and stepping back in time.

Enjoying traditional Korean food, here we had Bibimbap (vegetables and rice served in a hotpot that cooks the food) and Bindaetteok (Mung bean pancake). Delicious!

Enjoying the beautiful weather at the village.

Taking the journey up to Namsan Seoul Tower and enjoying the clear views and all the 'locked in love' that couples put around the tower.

Overlooking the mountain ranges together.

Having a crazy adventure in Myeongdong - the super busy shopping centre of Seoul. Having fun at the show 'Nanta' and then people watching everywhere!

Trying some street food a long the way home - here is battered potato crisps!

Hubby and I loved having you come to stay mum, see you in NZ next and the arrival of baby Hub.

Full circle.

Hey, there. Nice to see you again. It has been soooo long since I have even popped in here myself! I have been full circle....
Delete it.
Too deep in a season of challenge and stressed out.
I want to try.
Don't know how to start again.
Delete it.
But I want to write.

Til now. So, I am back and to start I want to address my silence here.

Happy Happy Joy Joy!

Hubby has just left to pick up his ma and pa from the airport!

They are coming to stay for just less than two weeks and we will be traveling with them to Jeju Island next week during a Korean National Holiday, Chuseok.

We are so excited to show them around our community and share lots of the Korean culture with them.

A very joy-full day!

Goood!

You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.

Psalm 86:5

There are so many things that are GOOD right now...

Having our first vistors stay. Matty and Bex Dow. We had a fun 2 days with these guys and showed them around Seoul with my wonderful friend Ami too.

Visiting Seoul Tower at sunset. Overlooking this big city at this time of the day is just beautiful.

Fresh tasty salads made by Hubby. So tasty and just a little feel of summer during our winter.

An email from my special friend Elvie...

'Ive been thinking a lot about how we need to appreciate the simple things more, the 'dull' things in life and I came across this poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins. I just wanted to share it with you but I actually wanted to put it on your blog as I think it fits in quite nicely...'

Glory be to God for dappled things -
For skies of couple-colour as a brindled cow;
For rose-moles all in stipple upon trout that swim

Fresh-firecoal chestnut-falls; finches' wings
Landscape plotted and pieced - fold, fallow and plough;
And all trades; their gear and tackle and trim

All things counter, original, spare, strange;
Whatever is fickle, freckled (who knows how?)
With swift, slow; sweet, sour; adazzle, dim;
He fathers-forth whose beauty is past change:
Praise him.

Under-floor heating in our apartment keeps my tootsies nice and warm.

What is good for you right now?
