on april 4 we experienced a total lunar eclipse. i waited up late to capture the blood red moon but unfortunately, i couldn't photograph it. but i was able to get some early moon photos from the great view we had when visiting family.

we had the amazing opportunity to stay in the matauri bay area for 10 days, a generous act from a colleague to explore the bay and te ngaere bay. a beautiful part of our country and so remote.

when i was unpacking i found a ring that was given to me when i was eighteen. i remember receiving it in the mail in my first year of university, a special surprise from my grandma and aunty. i have started wearing it again as a reminder; maybe a promise.

isaiah is coming up with all sorts of new words these days, this week he's been using the phrase {oh no!} a lot! he finds it really funny... along with {naughty mama, dadda etc} and others that are said at certain times... like leaving the house {where going?}. I love this age!

i took part in my first christmas swap with a blogger in derby, united kingdom. it was so awesome to send something off and also receive a surprise package in the mail and open it up to reveal wonderful treats and christmas crafts to use throughout the silly season. thank you, melanie!

i have reached a -what now?- point which i am realising is a great opportunity to embrace my limits rather than resist them, and turn to His strength which is made in my weakness.

i am putting my name in some prospective job hats and applying for positions starting in february next year. feeling like a vagabond coming home... i'm excited and nervous at the possibilities!

we are living in the country now!
we are surrounded by animals and birds and wear gumboots pretty much every day. it's a big difference from our four years in south east asia. it feels like a treat.

Our boy is mimicking us in so many ways, so much fun. What is it that we want him to copy and what is it that we don't?!

{ Tea }

It's definitely tea season here and I received a glass tea infuser for a ridiculously good purchase price this week. I am loving the options it gives me, especially when I have been battling a head cold. For me tea is so comforting.

{ Wrapping up }

A new handmade beanie to enjoy, new warm socks, moccasins, jacket and mittens. New challenges with keeping our little one warm against the cool mornings as we walk to school or play in the leaves. Aware that we are going to be the pale ones going back in NZ in three weeks.

All systems are go, baby Hub is more determined to be moving about than ever. A whole new world has opened up and with that... baby proofing the house. We are slow off the mark but have started!

Baby Hub has been poorly for the last week and a half, it is getting kicked to the curb but it sure is horrible to see our boy go through their first major sickness. He is a resilient little one and will be back to 100% in no time.

{ warm }

the new buds can be seen, the days are warming up and a picnic is to be had tomorrow.

{ tension  }

we live on a peninsula with two countries connected ethnically but who are technically at war. if you were to ask what is going on right now, i would say there are threats and a whole lot of posturing. our heads are not in the sand, we have bags packed and a contingency plan but praying for peace.

{ bond }

as our baby boy grows he is weaving us more closer as a family. hubby and i share in so many joys together and we are trying to work together not against each other when things get tricky.

{ no  }

i am not one to like to say no to people. but I did it yesterday with sincerity and care. i didn't add another rock to an already-full wagon i {figuratively} haul around. it was seriously liberating. i should do it more often - haha!
